The »Residual Stresses« team has acquired a new Pulstec µ-X360s X-ray diffractometer for the non-contact measurement of residual stresses on actual components. With the new diffractometer, it is possible - without contact - to determine the near-surface residual stresses on different materials. The additional attachment to a laboratory robot enables automated mapping of residual stresses and the measurement of residual stresses in multiple measurement directions.
