High school students

The Fraunhofer IWM enhances young talents and offers chances to junior scientists via exposing them to the institute’s knowledge about materials.



In the area of career guidance for high school students (BOGY and BORS) we offer interested students bi-annual week long internships in scientific fields.

To help contain the Corona pandemic and in the best interests of all concerned, for the time being we have decided not to offer any 2021 student internships.
We ask for your understanding and hope that we can again offer student internships next year.

Girls' Day - Future career day


We open our doors to the world of materials research!

The Fraunhofer IWM participates in Girls' Day, a future career day for girls which takes place every year.

Girls' Day is supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth and funded through means of the european social capital.
