8th-9th March 2012: Opening of the Center for Applied Microstructure Diagnostics CAM and Industry Workshop at Fraunhofer IWM

The Fraunhofer IWM business unit »Microelectronics and Microsystem technology components«, scheduled in March 2012 will be the perfect occasion to review 20 years of very successful research in microstructure analytics, material assessment and diagnostics method development for semiconductor technologies, electronic components and systems. At this event, we will be launching the next stage of expansion that will further improve our potential and capabilities. Cutting-edge equipment will facilitate new solutions for our partners in industry and science! Therefore, there are very good reasons to invite you to this specific event already today:

- After comprehensive reconstruction, our premises in Heideallee 19 will give home to the IWM Center of Applied Microstructure Diagnostics. It will host our powerful failure analysis capabilities ranging from non-destructive diagnostics over nm-target preparation to high-end material diagnostics. Join in at the inauguration of the two most up-to-date high resolution transmission electron microscopes (TEM) within Fraunhofer society and let us show you how to use their potential to solve industrial problems.

- Follow demonstrations of newly developed and improved instrumentation for microstructure diagnostics, testing, and industrial quality assurance that have been developed within research projects in close collaboration with equipment providers and get informed about currently running developments.

- Inform yourself on our capabilities to localize defects and underlying root causes of failure presented as case studies related to automotive electronics quality and reliability issues.

- At the evening, let us raise glasses to 20 years of very successful cooperation between the Fraunhofer IWM microelectronics business unit and our partners in industry and applied science - we are looking forward to join new partnerships!
